I started creating custom wedding accessories for friends and family about 15 years ago. At the time, it was so hard to find items that were truly unique and personal to couple. Later, as more custom accessories became available, the price for such work was very high. I wanted to make things that broke the mold, not the budget.
Five years ago, my mom opened a mobile wedding boutique in a small bus and took jewelry to client's homes. When the request for affordable gowns came in, we decided to open a brick and mortar shop in the small town of Battle Ground, WA. Housed in a little historic 1930's house, it had great charm and allowed us to expand our wedding offerings. Within a year, we had outgrown the small space and moved to our current location in Vancouver, WA. I now have a Free Spirit Design shop inside the bridal boutique and have had the opportunity for greater exposure. We offer our brides more custom options than any other bridal shop. I have done bouquets, veils, hair accessories, guest book canvases, flower girl baskets, and ring pillows for clients and having a display space for them to see the quality and possibilities of my work has been great.
